B THEN
An artistic vision
Built in the Belle Époque style, our historic mansion was built as a seaside retreat for the Garcia Bedoya family during the presidency of Augusto Leguia in the 1920s.
Designed by renowned French architect, Claude Sahut, who was the visionary behind many of Lima’s main avenues, parks, theaters and public buildings.
The architectural features and unique flair of Hotel B reflect the celebratory spirit of the time. Constructions were completed in 1914 and the mansion showcased imported Italian marble and exotic woods, as well as an ornate façade, stratospherically high ceilings with “teatinas” (a unique style of skylight favored at the time), open balconies and expansive terraces.
